MZP to launch Students’ Aid Fund to support economically disadvantaged learners

Aizawl, December 7, 2025: The Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), the apex student body of Mizoram, is set to launch the MZP Students’ Aid Fund, a new initiative aimed at supporting economically disadvantaged Mizo students and ensuring that no deserving student discontinues education due to financial constraints.

The fund will be formally launched on 10 December 2025 at 7:00 PM at Woodland Hills, Rooftop, Zonuam, Aizawl. The event will be graced by Pu Laldhuoma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, who will serve as the chief guest and inaugurate the initiative.

According to MZP President Dr. C. Lalremruata, the Students’ Aid Fund is designed to promote equity, inclusion, and equal opportunity by assisting learners from low-income or marginalized backgrounds. The scheme aims to guarantee educational continuity for all Mizo students, irrespective of gender or socio-economic status.

The launching programme will also include a fundraising dinner, during which MZP appeals to well-wishers, alumni, and the public to contribute generously to strengthen the fund.

The initiative marks a major milestone in MZP’s 90-year legacy of championing student welfare and educational advancement in Mizoram.
